Veteran’s Haven - Click here to visit their website! Veterans Haven is a transitional Housing Program for Homeless Veterans. Veterans are admitted to a 100 bed, addictions free program with staff that is sensitive to the multiple needs they present. The program is divided into 3 phases: Treatment, self-reclamation and Community reintegration. Once they are moved to permanent housing there is a great need for everything that is needed to live independently. This is where we can help them. If you have any furniture that you are getting rid of and it is in good condition, call Veterans Haven and they will come and pick it up. Household items like pots and pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, small appliances, small waste baskets, small lamps, brooms/dustpans, buckets, cleaning supplies, linens, or anything for the bathroom or bedroom would be greatly appreciated. Items for the bathroom could include a shower curtain and hooks, a soap dish, hand soap, towels, wash cloths, shower gel, toilet paper, bath rug sets, dryer sheets, laundry basket, etc. Items for the kitchen could include dish soap, foil, saran wrap, paper plates and plastic ware, sponges, paper towels, cookie sheets, paring knife, spatula, oven utensils, oven mitts. Anything you think of that you use in your kitchen is something that they could use for their new home. Consider a “welcome basket” filled with things for the home.
Participation in this project will be on your own. As noted in the description below, they will pick up large items that you would like to donate. We ask that you let us know if you do make a contribution so we can note how many members participate in this project. William Lobach, Assistant Superintendent 301 Spring Garden Rd., Winslow, NJ 08037
